Last day in Paris... Hello Amsterdam

Salut!!
Sigh our vacation is finally coming to an end. Today is our last day in Paris... Last time to see the Eiffel Tower and last breakfast in the city of love :)

Sun rising over the Eiffel Tower.

Last pain du chocolat :(

Photo of Charles de Gaulle airport...

And guess what folks?!? I found another macaron store here in the airport :) it's by
Ladurée! It's by far, hands down the best macarons I've ever tasted in my life. I couldn't believe my mouth!

Hahha Anywho, we then stopped over at Amsterdam airport - Schiphol for a few hours :) I have to stay Amsterdam has the funniest, nicest and friendliest people! I just laughed my way through the security check lol
I hope to come back and visit Amsterdam soon. Definitely one of my top places to visit :)

One thing about the flight home from Amsterdam that was great was the food! I know I'm super weird... But I love airplane food!!! I love how everything is separated into their own little compartment lol we even got ice cream on the KLM royal dutch airlines (KLM stands for Koninklijke Luchtvaart Maatschappij airlines .... Now say that 3x in a row lol)

Anyways... I can't wait to go home... My legs are so sore from 2 weeks of walking non-stop... I need to go home, work on my vacation scrapbooks and made some cards! Xoxox

Paris day 6

bonjour tout le monde!!
I'm sorry for my daily blog posts about my trip to Europe. It's the one of the ways for me to look back and remember what my hubby and I did that specific day. But anywho...
Today the hubby and I had to wake up extra early to line up at the Eiffel Tower, so we can queue up. It began to rain hard when we got out of the hotel, so instead of walking the 15 minutes... We got lazy and took a taxi instead hahahaha lame! I know! Lol

So when we got to the tower, there was already a small queue.
Here's a photo from the underside of the tower.

There were probably 150-200 people ahead of us at the line when we got there 15 minutes after the tower opened, but it was still 4x shorter than the a couple of days ago; when the queue itself coiled like a long snake around 2 legs of the Eiffel Tower.

Oh, Here's a photo of the bust of Gustave Eiffel, the engineer and architect who created the famous Eiffel Tower.

Anywho, even with the shorter line, it still took us over an hour to get to the top of the Eiffel Tower.
Here's some photos of the city below.

Champ de mars.

We then had lunch at le bailli de suffren restaurant beside the Eiffel Tower.
I had, Pâté de Campagne (country pâté) and spaghetti bolognaise (spaghetti bolognese); and my hubby had jambon, fromage suisse, tomate, et le beurre dans une baguette française (ham, swiss cheese, tomato, butter in a baguette) and sauce au chocolat aux noisettes avec des bananes crêpe (hazelnut chocolate and banana crepe)

But the best part of the meal was the croissants that was served to us before our dishes came!! Omg it was so good!! The best croissants I've ever had in my life.

We then toured around some more in Paris, swinging by the moulin rouge windmill. Unfortunately, it began to pour so hard that the rain was going sideways.  Lol it was so mental! I couldn't believe my eyes! It was fine and cloudy one minutes and the next second it was raining cats and dogs!
At the end of the day, we decided to go  to Le Notre Paris to buy some more macarons.... The macarons from Le Notre Paris were so amazing!!! The Flavours - cherry, some French liquor (It starts with an M), apricot, jasmine with gold flakes and chocolate.

Anyways, tomorrow is out last day in the city of love :) see you then!

Paris day 5

Salut!!
I can't believe how time flew here in Paris. This city has so much to see and do. And today we spent the whole day in the Château de Versailles or in English Palace of Versailles. My hubby decided to do a private tour because he was unsure about the metro system here in Paris. He thought London Underground was easier to use because everything was in English, but since our French very basic, we decided to play it safe.

Here's some photos from the Château de Versailles.

The famous hall of mirrors

The huge garden of Versailles with rectangular trees :)

Here's the other side of this man-made lake.

Here's some little feathery friends my hubby and I met :) they were swimming around the lake lol

We also had some macarons from: angelina paris - chateau de versailles domaine de marie antoinette (cafe, vanille, pistache). The pistachio flavour was the best one I've ever had EVER!!

We then watched people walk by in Paris on a rainy evening, while eating at  La Terrasse du 7eme. We had the poissons morue avec des légumes sautés and magret de canard aux légumes sautés.
(Cod fillet and duck breast)

I had an extra treat during dinner - Chocolat viennois chaud avec de la crème chantilly (Viennese hot chocolate with chantilly cream). It tasted like they melted a whole chocolate bar and made it into a drink hahahah

Well until tomorrow folks. Xox

Paris day 4

Bonjour!
I'm so sore today folks. I think walking for 10 hours/day, everyday, since April 27 has taken a toll on my poor body... Especially my calves and feet. Ouch! They feel so tight.

But that still don't stop me from walking over to the boulangerie patisserie/ bakery pastry store down the street to buy - Pain au Chocolate, petit croissant, Pain aux raisins, poulet et tomates quiche, cafe and bailey macarons for me and my hubby's lunch. I got all of this food from this boulangerie patisserie on Avenue de la Motte-Picquet called Bretteau Jean-Marie Boulangerie patisserie.

I will have to learn how to make that quiche though. It was so good!!

After lunch we walked over to the Dôme des Invalides, which contains Napoleon I's tomb. The museum was closed this week for cleaning but his tomb was open for tourists. Omg! His coffin was HUGE!! It was as big as a trailer!!

We then decided to go to City Pharma and the pharmacie beside it where I purchased a few skin care products I can't get in North America... 'embryolisse lait creme concentre', 'nuxe reve de miel', bioderma soothing refreshing water spray and  'homeoplasmine'. I was thinking of getting more embryolisse lait creme concentre since I probably won't be back in Paris for a little while.

Finally, after a long day touring around the bus, finding out the catacombs is closed on Mondays, and looking at popular tourists areas, in Paris we decided to just grab pistachio ice creams, some salads at our local Carrefour and eat at the hotel :)

See you guys tomorrow!!

Paris day 3

salut tout le monde!
Wow! We had another gorgeous day in Paris. It was sunny but the breeze kept us cool. The hubby and I had an early start this morning... Because today, we  were determined to get into a couple of famous but extremely busy museums. The first one being the Louvre.

Here's a photo from the outside and inside under the glass pyramid. The line went all the way around the pyramid, but their museum entrance system was very organized and there were 4 ticket kiosks inside the Louvre. So we only waited online to get in for about 30 minutes and another 10 for the tickets.

Oh we met a couple of beautiful ladies in the Louvre too! Hehe

After, my hubby and I decided to walk to Ponts des Arts bridge where lovers "lock" their love and throw the key into the River Seine. He and I also decide to do this romantic gesture :)

We then braved the lines at musee d'orsay (Orsay Museum) for about 40 minutes. In line, we met the nicest and friendliest Ohio/ Hawaiian American (Dave) and he made the time pass by more quickly :)
The hubby and I then rushed through the crowds and queued up to see one of our favourite artist Vincent Van Gogh. We also saw my favourite impressionist artists Renoir, Monet, Manet and Degas.

In the musee d'orsay, there's this little cafe where we had the most amazing dish called " tourte poulet et champignons" in English - Chicken and mushroom pie. It was so good!!! The salad had a mushroom vinaigrette dressing. Yum!!! I have to learn how to make this one day!

As you can see in the photo I was so hungry I dove right into the pie and sliced it lol

Finally, after a long day, we decided to walk down the Avenue des Champs-Elysées and window shop (the Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Tiffany and co stores were a few places we saw). There was a ceremony at The Arc de Triomphe so we couldn't get very close to the arc.

Anywho, my legs were so tired by this point and I was seriously dragging them behind. *phew*!!! Until tomorrow folks.
I will leave you a photo of the Eiffel Tower light show and the crescent moon. Goodnight!
